Pack Your Passport for Brownfields 2008!

With Brownfields 2008 in Detroit, just a stone's throw from Windsor, Ontario in Canada, there is a strong possibility for some cross-border programming during the conference.  And why not go international and visit Ontario during your pre- and post-conference travels?  But if you plan to do so, be aware that the federal government is implementing new rules for "western hemisphere" travel.  Beginning today (January 31, 2008), you need two forms of ID to cross a land or sea border: (1) a government-issued photo ID and (2) proof of citizenship (driver’s license and birth certificate or a passport). At a later date this year yet to be determined, passports will be required, so if you are planning to travel to Ontario, pack your passport just be safe.

For more information and to keep up with the rule changes, visit www.travel.state.gov.
